Real World Tips for Resisting Alcohol Cravings


If you’re cutting back on alcohol, giving up or just decided to drink more responsibly, here are some tips for resisting those alcohol cravings.

  1. Identify your motivation – why do you want to quit or cut down. Having a motivator will help you remember why you’re doing it, for you health, your kids etc.

2. Find alternatives to drinking alcohol – for example when you would ordinarily drink alcohol at a pub, opt for a coffee shop insetad.

3. Reshape your social patterns – Alot of your socialising may revolve around alcohol. Find an alternative to meeting your mates after work for a pint.

4. Find something else you enjoy – it may sound like a cliche’ but get a hobby or something to keep you distracted that you enjoy.
