Official statistics released recently indicate that lock-out laws have had a positive effect on Sydney’s night life.
Lockout laws, limiting the sale of alcohol in the CBD and Kings Cross and access to alcohol has been given a thumbs up by top criminologist and director of the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research, Don Weatherburn.
The bureau’s study shows a 40 per cent fall in the number of assaults in the CBD and a fall of 32 per cent in Kings Cross following the introduction of the laws.
