If you’d like to taste what Guinness tastes like, minus the alcohol, you’ll have to travel all the way to Southeast Asia and Indonesia more specifically because this will be the first country in which Diageo introduces its new alcohol-free Guinness.
The group’s efforts to try and market its brand more in Indonesia coincides with a clampdown on beer sales in the country.
A spokesperson for the company says the group were already developing the non-alcoholic drink but growing conservatism and rising concerns about teenage drinking have pushed the government to ban beer sales in minimarkets, further proving the need for a non-alcoholic option.
Guinness Zero, as the drink will be called, is expected to be produced locally in Indonesia and distributed there exclusively.
