The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education FARE has released its alcohol poll, as it does every year and the latest results show that 75 per cent of Australians believe the nation has an alcohol abuse problem.
The poll has also revealed a shift in consumer perceptions for the better with many Australians responding positively to the government’s efforts to address alcohol abuse.
FARE’s poll also reveals that most Australians believe we need to do more to address alcohol related problems.
Not everyone agrees with the poll, with The Australian Hotels Association (WA) rejecting the findings and labelling the poll as a “fear mongering attempt to distort public opinion on alcohol consumption”.
